I don't understand what you are trying to do? Maybe just terminology. Are you adding slide out toppers and need to remove that rain gutter over the slide out?

The new slide out covers may or may not require that to be removed. It it can go just over it it could stay, then you would not have to patch holes. That gutter should be sealed with screws and a sealant like caulk or butyl rubber tape or a combo of both.

Peel back one end with a putty knife and locate the screws that secure it. They will all have to be removed and the location cleaned up, removing all adhesive and sealant.

We had toppers added by dealer
They mounted them just above that gutter.
The sad part was that didn't put enough slope on the topper and it would pool water in the middle.
Service manager agreed to add another slide topper mount above the first one.
Now they shed water
Myself I would leave that gutter where it is and make sure you mount the topper high enough.

That is what I was getting at. Mine were factory installed and have always pooled water in the middle. The bracket on my camper could have been installed 2 inches higher to give the awning more slope and there would have never been a problem.

No they are not. The mounts are tall enough on the slide it's not an issue.
The mounts are on the raise portion just beside the plastic corner guard
The mounts come in different length octagon tubes depending on
1 How much you overhand ends of slide
2 If you have an awning arm that will travel by

I have considered adding a new bracket on my rig 2 inches above the present one and would just abandon the present one and leave it in place.
