Thanks, We are still at home with my wife's parents. We have had plenty of time to prepare and are just wishing it would move on through. Here it is friday afternoon and still no rain and we just started getting some slight gusts.

I am confident we made the right decision as it has been nothing so far. I know it's going to be heavy rain and 40-60 mph gusts but we have had that before without any problem. Our whole neighborhood is here and no one is excited.

Maybe tomorrow we will get cabin fever when thee rain comes. We have all tanks full of fuel and plenty of groceries as several stores are open.

We were lucky so far on Florence.

It looks like Charleston dodged the bullet unless the storm decides to make a 90 degree turn south. I have a friend that just retired and moved to New Bern, NC. It looks like they took a direct hit, with the most violent wind and rain to the northwest of the eye wall. Hoping to hear from her soon.

Yes, I think the people who evacuated the coast where I live were just being overly cautious or at least it seems that way now that they say where we are that there may be less than one inch of rain and winds not over 35 mph.

It's been a long week. Now my in-laws are with us until the assisted living facility can come back from where they evacuated, which is directly where the rain and wind is headed upstate.

Many are still suffering the affects of high water and flooding from Hurricane Florence. She is gone but left a lot of misery in the wake.

We had hardly a 1/2 inch of rain and just some moderate gusts here but just 60 miles away to the east they are suffering from rivers flooding.

We had a 4 day trip planned to Willow Tree Resort near Myrtle Beach but just cancelled due to most roads being flooded. getting there from here.

We changed and are now going to Waynesville, NC for 3 weeks.
