Hurricane Irma Insurance Claims

It will be interesting to hear from all of our campers whom suffered damage from Hurricane Irma, or Harvey. It might give us some insight as to how individual insurance companies handle their claims and rather you have a favorable or negative response.
We just had a lightning claim through Southern Trust Insurance Co. Although they have not dealt with a lot or RV claims and my service department had to walk them through the process, it was a very positive experience. They paid the final bill as soon as the work was completed. I am a happy camper. I hope your experiences go as well if you have suffered a loss. Seeing a lot of campers on their sides down in the keys. Lots of claims to be filed. Just wondered how many Jayco claims there will be.

it seems that many many tt and RV's and the like were destroyed on the Texas coast by Harvey and I assume many more in florida.

I would imagine that RV sales are going to be brisk for the foreseeable future.

How might that affect the rest of us?

increase in insurance premiums.

lack lust luster treatment at the dealerships?

Shortage of repair parts and new RV inventory?

any other things I haven't thought of yet?

On a related topic... for anyone planning a trip to Florida, please be aware that at least 50 of the State parks are still closed or offering "day use only", so no camping.

This is a useful site for updates:

We are planning a trip early next year to Cape Hatteras - I just saw the forecast for "Maria" it looks like she will make landfall at the Outer Banks later this week. My prayers are with all those affected in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and beyond...
