hw tight should the tub liner be?

In our new trailer, the tub liner appears to be "loose" at the bottom.
It seems it is not firmly attached to the wall. If we push on it on the loose spots, you can hear a noise which sounds like two sided tape that is not sticking.
Out trailer is under full warranty.. but I am just not sure what is normal and what is not...

Thanks

lady W

That seems to be pretty normal. Ours is the same way and I've heard others that do the same thing. The only thing our dealer did was caulked at the edge where the water could run out over the tub and onto the floor. The rest is "open" and pretty free.

So I went out and checked mine. When I press on the plastic surround, some areas seem to be in full contact with the wall behind it and some areas are not. It seems to be about a 1/16" play in the areas which are not in contact, it's about a 50 / 50 mix of full and partial contact.

So do you think we should caulk around the edge? Its so loose, that I am guessing the caulk would look terrible and come lose anyway. My only real concern is that hold may get behind there..

It is supposed to be like that, as there is a lip behind the wall that keeps water in check and allows air to dry it out. Do not caulk it (at the bottom of the wall).

I agree with Mike, do not caulk the whole thing. Our dealer just did the very edge of the tub where it ends because water was running back the lip and out onto the floor. They built a little "ledge" there for lack of a better term to force it back to the tub. Even with that, now when we take a shower we will either use a wash cloth or something there to keep the water at the very edge of the tub from running out onto the floor.

Could you post a pic of what the dealer did? We have had this issue on occasion, depending on how the trailer is sitting once parked.

we were told by our dealer specifically to not caulk that even though it looks like it should have been. had something to do with the air flow.

I'll try to remember to do if I get home in time tonight.

Ours is the same way, and if you push it in you can hear the adhesive not sticking, i was thinking of using two short pieces of carpet tape behind the liner and see if that works better on holding the liner in place.
