I Am the Warranty

We passed a person wearing a shirt that said "I am the warranty". DW told me she was going to get me that shirt. I said thank you.

... shouln't have to be the warranty after paying for one.

With a stick and brick in the city or most suburbs you can usually call someone and get whatever fixed. If you are rural, you probably need to be more self reliant. We generally take our RVs to rural areas.

I bring a backpacking mentality to RV camping. Don’t be dependent on gear you can’t readily maintain or fix. You can’t call the front desk and have them send someone else or move you to a different room.

It's not. I thought it was humorous.

The shirt fits the bill and is true 95% of the time.. I have a 7 year warranty with my 19 RSTS and my roof membrane is coming apart, the glue is failing. I've had it into the dealer twice each time they said this is normal. Now that it is is three times worse than what it was the last time i took it in i finally decided to contract Horizon Portfolio and start the process to cash in my extended warranty.. They told me i had to contact the dealer.. I have and now getting the run around.. Calls not getting returned and even been hung up on. Next step will be an attorney.. In the mean time, i've been learning the repair process watching YouTube videos and will me making my own repair.. I highly recommend anyone buying a new RV to stay clear of these extended warranties.. They are noting but more profits for the dealers..

Even better is the Ski-Doo Summit t-shirt with a guy jumping the snowmobile off a ledge with about a 200 foot drop, that says "Wife's sled: gently ridden".

I guess the moral of the story is...If you can't fix it don't buy it.

That's a good message. Although some folks don't mind dealing with the system the way it is. The message hit home with me because we have a family member that can't do much more than change a light bulb. He wants to buy a TT and we keep talking him out of it. His wife agrees with us.

We used to say if enough people felt that way it would negatively impact sales and the builders would have to make corrections. The way it is now is they can't build them fast enough.
