I have to ask...

I have read various posts of fellow campers preferring a single vs a double bowl kitchen sink. How do you wash/rinse dishes in a single bowl sink? My trailer has 2 bowls. I fill one with soapy dish water, leaving the other bowl for rinsing. If washing and rinsing in a single bowl; doesn't that single bowl fill quickly with water? This is a question I have often pondered. Perhaps I am not washing dishes correctly!

If you don't have a lot of dishes then the procedure is fairly simple. Just fill the sink with hot soapy water and dirty dishes. Scrub the dishes clean (sponge and\or brush) and leave them in the soapy water after scrubbed while you move on to scrub the next one. Once all dishes are scrubbed clean, then drain the dirty water out of the sink and then start rinsing the dishes with hot water and with the sink drain open. Place dishes in dish drying rack, or hand dry them.

My RV has a double sink, but some of the smaller ones I have owned years back only had a single sink. ~CA

I use a scrubby sponge with soap. Clean things and just sit them in the sink. When all are done or the sink is full I stop cleaning and rinse.

We have a double sink but don't have many dishes to clean. Usually use a lot of paper plates, which saves on water useage. Also we learned to never wash any leftover food down into the gray tank. It creates a lot of odors and potential clogs. Any food scraps go down the toilet.

Our TT came with a double bowl sink. The DW washes in the larger one, rinses into the smaller side, puts them in the drying rack and I dry and put them away. There's just the two of us, so there's not a ton to do.

We much prefer a single basin at home and it the camper. We may replace our double basin in the TT.

My wife bought this drying rack from Amazon. Works with any sink.

We have a folding dish pan that we fill with hot water for rinsing. It sits beside the sink where we have soapy water. When the dishes are finished, we drain the sink and then rinse the remaining soap out with the rinse water from the dish pan.
