I'd like to set fire to the rain!
It's been pouring for about 1.5 hours with no end in site! It's 3:30 in the morning! This is the first time I don't like my hybrid. Way too noisy in the bunks.

My attitude about rain has changed. Last year, our region of Texas had multiple weeks of temperatures above 110 and multiple weeks of no rain. Forest fires got started daily, smoke clouds everywhere. A temperature of only 105 felt cool.
Now, I like rain ... but I prefer it not to occur on a camping trip.

We had rain all day yesterday, and temps in the mid 50's through about 5pm- Which I was OK with- but when the rain stopped, the winds picked up and temps dropped into the high 40's.
I kept asking myself- Is this really June 1st?

Probably the only other thing that can be worse than rain pelting down on your end bunks could be if you are camped on a site with no grass/cement. The last rainy camp trip we experienced was on a dirt site. There was just enough of a slant that the water flowed right below our steps! The mat acually helped, but what a mess!
Hope the rain lets up for you and you can enjoy the rest of your trip

It really came down. Radar had all those dark reds and oranges which you know aren't great. Bad storm but we survived. Lol. So far it's turning into a great day.

And for the record, a large number of local beaches are closed today because of all the runoff water going into the oceans and bays. Our sewer site has a concrete border around it that's about 2-3" high. It was overflowing when we woke up, that's how much rain we got between 2-5 am.

When we had a hybrid, I used to love hearing the rain on the canvas. You to make me remember all those years in the army when I would have loved to have something over my head in the rain .
Usually after a good rain, the weather is great, hope it works out for you. It's beautiful here is east TN, 70s and sunny. Wish I was camping, but we're heading out again next weekend for some camping on a river in the Smokies. Breaking out the tubes.

I feel for you in the rain....it rained on Friday when we left to go camping and in most part Sat was not bad until 10:00 pm at and then it rained all night.....it sounded like pennys being dropped on the roof.....we had a couple of groups of youth pull into the sites behind us and pretty much disturbed all us quiet campers who were enjoying the day until they arrived.....they were yelling, swearing, drinking and cranked up their music...someone must have stood watch for the park rangers because everytime they made the presence known, the volume dropped.....the rain was our saving grace...it drove them under cover.....and pretty much killed their party plans
