Inspection Sticker

Has anyone ever forget to get there trailer inspected after it expired? I did last year. I noticed it in Florida. The ride home I was thinking we are going to get a ticket. When we got in Pennsylvania I was waiting to get busted. I passed state police and local police no one noticed our sticker.
I can tell yo it is at the dealer and getting inspected. I went over the trailer before we left for Florida. I repacked the bearings. Set the brakes. Put new led tail lights and marker lights. And then forgot the trailer inspection! I paid the price worrying about it the way home. Never again!

I'm positive you're not the first one to have forgotten that. In NY, the trailer inspection stickers are stapled to the registration certificate, so there's nothing on the trailer itself to see. The license plate does have a colored date sticker we put on it for the current registration. That's the one the police look for here.

In PA, they are either located on the front driver's side window of the trailer or on the trailer tongue near the breakaway switch.

In the Great State of Arizona we don’t need no stinkin stickers!

I do have a Good Sam sticker on the bumper…does that qualify?

We do not have inspection stickers. Do have license tabs. Last year I forgot to place the tabs on the plate. Noticed it about a week before we placed the rig into storage.

State inspection stickers are a long gone nuisance here in SC.

No inspection/stickers + lifetime plates = no more trips to the dmv for any of my trailers.

Here in TX an inspection is required before the registration can be renewed. We get a new sticker for the permanent plate that shows the expiration date. My last 2 inspections consisted of checking the tail lights.

No state inspections in Illinois, but we do have an annual registration sticker that goes on the plate. It expires in December every year, even if you bought it in October. Since that is the middle of winter, I have forgotten to put it on until Spring. I've towed it home from the dealer for service over the winter without the current sticker, but with the registration in the glove box of the truck without a problem. The police around here have enough reckless drivers to pull over, so I'm sure they never even look at the sticker unless they have already pulled you over.

I never thought about what people go through to get it inspected and some don’t do anything.

So the real question IS it about public safety OR another source of income for the State? How many States actually require a safety inspection? Does the money paid for the inspection go to increasing safety on the road just to line the States coffers
