Insurance providers in Canada?

I'm two weeks away from picking up our 2014 X17Z and am starting to shop insurance. I thought I would pop my head in here to see if any fellow Canadians have recommendations.
It has been a number of years since we owned an RV. Back then we bought coverage from Wayfarer (Aviva). As such they were my first call yesterday.
Based on a $20,000 replacement value I was quoted $312 /yr.
This covers full replacement + $4,000 contents with a $300 deductible.

So here's my question, Is Wayfarer (Aviva) the best source since they specialize in RV insurance or are there better options available?

I'm with Aviva also. Since they specialize in RV, the coverage is really tailored for an RV.

From experience (2 friends who had dedicated RV insurance companies)...

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!

They are tailored to RV world yes, but they are often way more expensive than your regular insurance company!

Both my friends had issues with their RVs...

- One had an accident 500km from home... the TT was damaged only... but the company wouldn't tow it back to his place after the repairs. They said that it was not covered. He found out after that if he had been with his regular car insurance, it would have been covered.

- Second one had a tree fall on his TT while he was camping... Insurance company covered damage to the TT, but not his belonging...they argued that it was his home insurance that had to cover his belonging.
House insurance declined the claim, saying it was an RV related claim.

I'm covered for house, 2 cars and TT with the same company, if something happens, they'll cover me, no problems!

Thanks Philpaint.

Interesting Salsa03.
From my knowledge Aviva is not just an RV insurance company.
After a quick call to my current Insurance provider (not Aviva) who holds my home, both cars and my business, their quote came in $200 (66%) higher and the deductible was also $200 (66%) higher.
It doesn't mean I will not go with them but I want to investigate if they actually provide a better service for that price difference.

We initially went with the same insurance co. as our house and 2 vehicles. Then I found that coverage was pro-rated, and each year that passed, the value they would payout for a write-off went down quickly. Then found Aviva would payout full replacement value for the first 5 years on a new TT, after that was pro-rated also. They also had better coverage in the event the TT needs winching out of a ditch. The Aviva was slightly higher cost, but we chose it for the above two reasons. I think all insurance companies have short falls somewhere, and a person needs to look at what factors are important for their situation.

This is an Ontario broker, and the link provides some quick quotes.

The insurance for my TT other than liability is insured thru CPLUS Chutter Insurance. I purchased thru John Meier Insurance in Surrey BC
