Inverter

I have a 2018 Jayco Greyhawk 29 MVPDoes the inverter need to be on to cool the refrigerator while traveling ?

It is probably gas/elec and not connected to the INVERTER. You need to run it on gas while on the road.

Your fridge should be gas, switching to electric when you are plugged in. Look outside the motorhome where the refrigerator is. A gas fridge will have a plastic vent cover that can be removed by turning plastic screws 90 degrees in the top corners.

If you have a residential fridge, which is all electric, then you would need a source to power it. i.e. Generator or Inverter. If you have AC/DC Gas Fridge, i find it best to use the DC while traveling. Some combination models don't have the DC option, only AC or Gas.. You need to resort to your owners manual fot find out what you have and what your options are. Happy Traveling
