Is it too late to winterize

And should I blow or use the pink stuff?

IF you can get fluid to move do both but living in our tropics of Dakotas and Minnesota its likely too late.

RV antifreeze is normally good to -50 ambient. Wind chill does not affect it since that is a "feels like".

The only effect wind chill has on inanimate objects, such as car radiators and water pipes, is to shorten the amount of time for the object to cool. The inanimate object will not cool below the actual air temperature.

Not too late. At least blow out the pipes. You could add RV antifreeze as an extra measure of protection. Don’t forget to dump a cup or two of antifreeze into each drain trap.

But what are winds? If it's laminar wind from Canada, the temps will be too low. If it's blowing 50mph...you may be ok. Ford has done extensive research on AF and even the best of AF's have frozen at -35. Remember, AF doesn't keep ice out of the lines...just keeps it slushy. And if it's slushy at 10 degrees like it is here when temps drop ..it'll definitely start solidification at -15, 20, 30 or whatever it is in ND. Blow the lines out and pray.

It's only too late if the lines are already frozen. If they're not, I would blow them out and use RV anti-freeze. The Prestone version (typically available at Walmart) claims no burst protection down to -100F.

Blowing the lines out is easy and doesn't take long unless you have a big compressor that you have to move a ways. I would give it a shot. Little effort now might save you a lot of headache and repair later.

Just keep a lightbulb on in your storage compartment, you'll be fine!

The really funny part is the, serious answers to go ahead an blow out your lines. As if every fitting in the rv wouldn't already be shattered.

Yeah - what you don't know is that they automatically switch to Kelvin when reporting temps in North Dakota.

Saves on ink.
