Is NRVTC good?

I am considering whether to do the training at the National RV Training Center. Has anybody here done this? Is it generally considered a good resource of time and funds?

I have a Jayco 2016 White Hawk 29REKS. I don’t know that I would do the training for the technician/inspector career. But it is possible if I think it wouldn’t take much effort to try/sustain.

Are there other options online for learning the ins and outs of the technical side of travel trailers?

I don't have any knowledge about the NRVTC, but to me, knowledge is powerful, and can make the RV experience that much better, and less stressful knowing more about the whole system.

Anything you can get out of the program would be great, if not just for yourself, but for friends and other's that may be struggling with an issue.

I run operrations and maintenance for a local transportation company as my second career. We were debating taking in some outside service work on RV's so I previewed the course for my newer mechanics to take. It was very basic mechanical information. Well put together and overall a decent course. If you are mechanically inclined and just want a better understanding of how the systems in your RV work this is a good option.

Yeah. Not real deep, but adequate to give most folks a decent overview and boost their ability to remove and replace items when needed. That is the idea that I get.

Don't know any more about this school than what's posted around the internet. But I have heard mobile techs say that someone just graduating from this school doesn't have enough experience to tackle most jobs. It takes experience and hands on to learn the job right. Another popular RV tech said he learned by reading all the manuals and then doing hands on.

Being self taught is a good thing but when your in the business, you need some credentials over and above experience.
