Jayco Eagle 284 BHS water heater won't stay on

Please refer to the attached picture of our control panel. When we are connected to generators, our when we are on battery power, we use the LP hot water option. A problem arises that once the water heats up, it turns off and the little light between the two water heater switches turns on. The little light is labled:
D
S
I

F
L
T

can someone help me with what the labeling is on the little light that illuminates and what could be wrong with water heater. Thank you.

Direct spark ignitor fault. That will light after 3 failed ignition attempts. Cycling the gas ignition power should reset the count. Weird that it happens after the water is hot. Either the igniter or control panel are likely having an issue.

Do you have insect screens over the vents on your WH cover panel? If not, insects (dirt daubbers, spiders. . .) may have taken up residence in the burner tube. Observe the flame when lit, if yellowish or Smokey that increases the likelihood that is the issue, should be mostly a blue flame.
If you don’t have the insect screens IMHO you should get them. They can be had to cover the WH, furnace and fridge vents.

I had the identical problem. The issue was the thermostat went bad. There are two (E.C.O) emergency cut off, this one is likely working and it is cutting off because the temp is getting too hot due to the Thermostat failure.

Do you find the water extra hot when it does get to temperature, before the light flashes? If so I'd wager this is your issue.
