Jayco Eagle Quality?

Hey guys and gals. I have found a used 2005 jayco eagle fifth wheel 281rlts for sale. I am going to look at it soon. I am curious on the quality of these campers or is there any known issues on them? Is eagle the higher end of jayco campers? Any help would be appreciated!

In 2005 Eagle was the top of the line. Keep in mind that unit is 13 years old. Look it over well

Welcome to JOF

Like "any" used RV a lot depends on how well the previous owner maintained it. I still have my 2005 Eagle (purchased new) and it continues to be a great TT. My Eagle has endured a lot of cross country road miles and extended stay use over the years. I did have a major roof/sidewall leak issue that was taken care of under warranty a couple years after my initial purchase.

Inspect the FW very carefully for any signs of moisture intrusion/damage. Classic signs of moisture damage are surface bubbles on the outer Filon (fiberglass) resulting in delamination, yellow stains on interior/exterior ceiling & wall surfaces, dimples on the ceiling surface, evidence of roof repair, etc.. Open up all interior cabinets/exterior storage areas and inspect using a flashlight......, don't forget to open/close the slide(s) taking notice to it's operation and fit when fully open/closed (inspect slide roof).

I believe that in 2005 the Designer series was top of the line followed by the Eagle series.

That said it also had a lot of features.
