jayco jay flight slideout...will keeping it partially slid out hurt it

At home I can't slide it all the way out...maybe 70% of the way out and I'm out of room....will this damage it in any way

If it's the Schwintek "in wall" slide you could get it out of sync. They tell you to not to stop it part way.

It would have the aluminum rails on each side of the slide out if it's a Schwintek.

It will leak because its not sealed. What is the benefit of keeping it partially open?

But he is at home, so I would guess that he isn't using it. What is the benefit of leaving a slide partially open and not sealed to the elements at home when it isn't in use?

Besides the fact that water and pests can intrude, the slideout floor isn't level and can be damaged if someone walks on it.

I guess I just don't understand what "problem" the OP has that partially opening the slide is a "solution".

If you need to open it for access, do it and then close it. I would not leave it partially open for the reasons already stated.
