Jayco Survey, a moment of review.

Well we have had our Jayco HTT for a little over a year now, and love it. We received a survey from Jayco in the mail today. While reviewing it, I would say I am a very satisfied customer. As my DW and I discussed the things we like and it’s few deficiencies. There are of course many things Jayco could do to make themselves miles ahead of their competition, but most of those items would increase the TT cost.

The two major items my DW and I decided Jayco needs to incorporate as standard items;
- Add a USB charging station for our smartphoes, Ipods, I pads, etc
- Add a vibration isolation pad for the water pump, just like Carbmans mod (low to no cost, waste reduction technique too).

These two items I believe would place Jayco miles in front of their competition. There are other little things to, but those would diffidently add costs, and maybe not the noticeable completive advantage over their competitors.

Yup! That would be nice to have an independent USB not associated with the stereo (did you know you can charge your phone etc with the USB on the Jensen stereo system that is installed in Jaycos with that option? But only if you aren't using the Jensen to watch a movie etc). Jayco reps who read this, are you listening

Just curious, but why charge via a USB over a standard wall outlet? My phone and tablet charger cords are USB, but have a wall adapter, although the adapter is another thing to carry, its not that bad.

X2. My wall charger seems to do its job faster than the USB, so I never bother with it. JMHO

The single most beneficial thing I can think of that Jayco could do is provide an owners manual for your specific camper. One that shows the specific location of all the valves, switches, indicators, drain points, etc. The generic one-size-fits-many-models doesn't cut it.

The walk-thru the dealers do is many times incomplete and considering the customer excitement at the time is generally ineffective.

I agree this would be a big step up. Seems pretty simple and a small cost to Jayco. I don't know other RV companies that does that but I didn't appreciate finding a bunch of photocopied pamphlet, brochures and cheap manuals on a generic Jayco TT or 5er after spending tens of thousands of dollars. Kinda feels cheap. There was a nice Jayco manual but not specific to our unit.

I would agree, it would also be nice if they weren't 10 years old, ours still talks about snapping the tents to the bunkend doors, umm, they are permanently attached so there are no snaps.

I agree wholeheartedly. We got a great walk-through, but there are always things you forget or have questions about later. And that makes this forum so valuable!

Just a guess, but maybe because a USB port could be integrated with the 12 volt wiring instead of 120V (just like on my motorcycle), meaning it could also be used when not plugged in to 120V.
