Jayco Warranty Work done not by a Jayco Dealer

Hi All,
I live in Southern Cal., and purchased a 2019 Jayco Alante from a dealer out of state. When I needed work done on a few minor things, I called my local authorized Jayco Dealer. The dealer then told me they would only work on a maximum of 3 warranty items per repair visit since I did not buy it from them. This spiteful dealer owns the 3 dealerships nearest to me, so I called Jayco customer service to share my displeasure.

I wanted to share some great news, Jayco offered me 2 different options, another dealership that sells a sister brand and a mobile repair guy. I jumped at the opportunity to use the mobile guy since he did work on my previous RV and he is local and reliable.
The mobile guy completed most of the work and ordered parts for 2 things that needed to be replaced. I did pay the mobile guy directly, but it took less than 3 weeks for Jayco to reimburse me completely!
I wanted to share my story and let everyone know the outcome. If you local dealer is less than helpful, you may want to give them a call.

That's great to know!!! I wonder if they only work with particular mobile techs only.

My money is on the Mobile Tech having worked on some 500K Entegra Luxury coaches for Jayco and was already listed in their database for that geographic area. A Jayco rep and myself discussed various options for having my Entegra Accolade warranty work done during a phone conversation yesterday.

As to mobile techs in other areas it will probably depend on the service options in the area, the particular mobile tech's labor rate, and the tech's willingness to work Jayco warranty items.

Here in my area we have a great independent service center that will work with several extended service companies (e.g. USA Travel Care) but flat out refuses to work with any manufacturers warranty.

They have regularly authorized Mobile Techs and it is nothing really new. I had one do service on our PINNACLE while we were parked at FORT WILDERNESS. They also haveindependent shops that they will work with.

I hope that that is one solution to the repair crisis that the industry has.

I hope for a day when manufacturers will quickly approve warranty repairs on any type product by any qualified facility or Mobile business.

Maybe it will put some pressure to get the units camping ready at delivery instead of the customer having to wait for it to be fixed during the warranty period.

Everyone that buys a rv is not a mechanic or electrician, but sadly it helps.

Thanks great news. My opinion from past experiences are that their are some very good Mobil techs that do a better job than the dealers. I use them when ever possible. Going to RV dealers for service and paying $100 / hour to get a tech that knows less than me about a problem gets old. The good techs leave dealers and start their own business.

Enjoy the journey

I had a mobile tech (RV Force) come and assess an issue while winter camping in Harlingen TX. Jayco approved and well worth the time. We sat and talked about all aspects of my new RV.
