JayFlight 212QBW model differences

Hi.

I have just joined this forum because I have committed to purchasing the model above based on the positive reviews of it plus I think the size and the layout will suit my needs perfectly.

I have identified 2 units, both 2017's one being the SLX and the other a Baja Edition. They are priced almost identically.

I know there are some obvious differences, one being the Baja has more clearance, bigger tires and maybe larger propane bottles.

Can anyone here tell me what other differences would make one a better choice than the other? Mostly it will just be me using it with occasional visits from the GF. While my intended uses will not be too extreme, I do intend to drive the Dempster highway next year and get to Alaska.
Does anyone have experience with driving on gravel? How well protected is the front end? Is that bit of checker plate sufficient to keep the nose from getting dinged?

Your thoughts and impressions will be appreciated.

When we bought our 2018, we considered the Rocky Mountain Edition, which, like the Baja, had some extra features. As I recall, they included more insulation underneath, a ladder on the back, cheap Furrion TV, fake backsplash, sink cover, medicine chest in the bathroom, and the things you mentioned. None were critical enough for the extra two grand they wanted. In fact, most I’ve added more cheaply and with better quality. While we haven’t driven with any speed on gravel roads, the diamond plate on the front of the rig seems pretty solid. It was unscathed in a major hailstorm that dented the heck out of the rest of the aluminum trailer wall above it last year. As a “couples trailer”, we’ve found this model to be perfect. Good luck!

When we bought our 21QB the upgraded had LED lights, extra water capacity, cabinets instead of a shelf above the bed, porcelain toilet, towel rods, additional lighting in the kitchen, and a couple more things. We've been really happy with the decision. Also, perhaps because of inventory, the price difference was just over $1,000 when we got down to final numbers. As a couples trailer it was exactly what we wanted and three years later would buy the same model again.
