Jumping 3 and 4 pins to activate running lights?

I tried this in my 2013 26bh for giggles and it didn't work. Even bridging others didn't do it.

Any idea on what gives?

Did you happen not to have the trailer battery connected nor the shore power?

Should work, what did you use to jumper the pins? I use a 15 amp fuse or a heavy duty flasher unit.

On my 7 pin connector, jumping the 2 on either side of the locking lug works for me.

Not sure why yours is not working.

It was connected to shore. But I thought maybe the shore licks out the batt charge line. So I tried without shore.

3 and 4 are what I'm looking for right? These are the ones to the immediate left and right dog the key in the plug. Used a length on 12 gauge wire.

To verify I wasn't totally crazy when I tried it on my buddies clipper pu it worked fine.

I would grab a voltmeter and verify if you have power to the 7 pin and the battery is being charged while connected to shore power. My next guess is within the converter you may have a blown fuse for protection against reversed polarity, aka connecting up the battery backwards.

Good way to run your battery down and make your neighbors unhappy with you - remember lights out after 10PM

Maybe I'm sheltered, but I'm just seeing this for the first time at CG this year.... (hooking up your running lights in the evening). Out of an entire CG, two units side-by-side ran their running lights every night.

I used to do it sometimes in the evening so the kids knew which trailer to come back to....gave them a good reference.

I also use just a simple blade fuse and bend the prongs just a bit. That way if I screw something up (which I am prone to do!) it wont hurt something more important.

I have used the flasher unit, when stopped on the side of the freeway changing a tire. It really makes the trailer noticeable.

Shouldn't run down the battery if you're plugged into shore power. I installed a 7 pin vehicle plug onthe tongue of the trailer with a permanently wired in fuse and toggle switch. I unplug from the TV and insert the trailer plug into the running lights dongle. The plug stays clean and up off the ground and in the evening flip the switch for running lights.

I wish the guy with the giant round white lights on the road side of his 5er would turn those darn things off at 10pm,,,but that horse has already been beaten to death on this forum.

If you have an emergency at the camp ground that required the rescue squad to come in it would really help them locate your trailer... Especially if they was flashing haha...

Each one of those incandescent automotive type lamps probably draws one amp. Sure would not want to do this when camping off the power grid...

My friend had his wired to a 12VDC ON/OFF switch just on the inside trailer door.
