CRAP!

Me and the DW went to the local RV show tonight.

Keystone, Flagstaff, Winnebago, Forest River, Grand Design, KZ, Coleman, Coachman and Jayco were on display.

I was impressed with the Grand Design & KZ line.

Everything else was just garbage, including Jayco.

Also, not offering a propane option on refrigerators
is just plain stupid. Don't get me started that the solar systems will run the refrigerator. Most folks like to camp under shady trees, not in the blazing sun. Winnebago was the only one at the show to have propane refrigerators in their smaller units.

There were 24 foot + travel trailers there on single axles… come on man!

My 2015 Jayco has been extremely reliable with no major issues. I have decided this is my last TT.

My 2015 Jayco has been extremely reliable with no major issues. I have decided this is my last TT.

I'm still blown away by the reliability of my 2017 Eagle... Going into 7th season and never an issue with the AC, heater, fridge, slides, leaks, etc.

The new products look nice but don't see the benefit of risking shoddy workmanship esp over the pandemic years. Saw Youtube video where the guy had every horrible issue with his Grand Design fifth wheel, and don't ever want to deal with that.

Our 2012 has proven to be trouble free and put together well, so along with the new awning fabric, tires, mattress, better faucets and wet bolts we've installed, we're keeping it.

We still like to go to the Syracuse show just to look for any interesting ideas and get out of the house for the day. Not much has floated our boat for 10 years except the 24RBS model, but anything longer than our 19RD won't fit in the driveway next to the house, along with the utility trailer behind it, so it happily stays. It's still fun to go look around and keep up with the new ones.

Still completely enjoying my 2010 Jayco that I feel owes me nothing. Just a tweak here & there every so often and everything is still original.

My 2021 Jayco has been solid at 7500 Miles. I think they all are going to non propane fridge. Solar is the "Popular" thing these days, I have no use for it at all.

The electric fridge is nothing more than a oversized cooler. Buy a tub and add ice. Don't forget the tub. Forget about ice cream.

We "upgraded" from our 2016 28BHBE to a 2022 33RBTS and I regretted it almost instantly but not because the new camper is bad in fact it has been perfect so far but more because my trade was my favorite camper of all we have owned.

I get attached to things pretty easily and the BHBE was an absolutely flawless camper for us. My wife convinced me that we needed more room for the grandkids and that our kids would be more likely to travel with us. Well the grands do come with us more, but just so our kids can get free time alone!

JFlight nailed it. I feel lucky that I slid in just before Thor with my 2016. I'm also to the point now where I' about willing to rip stuff out and rebuild to "make it my own." A camping friend of ours took out some cabinets and a sofa in their camper to free up space and it opened my eyes that I have basically a box on a chassis (that's all paid off) and I can do what I want to now since I'm not likely to trade in the near future.

x 4 probably.. The TT has been handy for cross country travels but the hassle of digging it out on sheer ice is a PITA.. We did not put much money into either of them as they are depreciating assets..

I'd enjoy going to these shows, only to appreciate what I already have. The small issues I have had and posted about have been easy to correct ones; no wallet busters.

We’ve had very good luck with our 2018 285RLSW. I do preventive maintenance on it regularly and really haven’t had a major problem with it.

Add another one to the list of potential last trailers. Looking at the new prices, they are almost double what we paid for ours new in 2018. I get the little things fixed, perform regular maintenance and it is working great. I can do a lot for the money I would have to spend to buy a new one after trade in.

There's always external forces that may shift the winds, but the plan is to stick with the devil I know

My 2018 JayFeather 23RL (now 24RL) has the bugs finally worked out of it. I will be paying it off in the next 90 days and there is no way in Haydees I would think about buying a new one for $38,995 after paying $21,800 for this one new. Sure, it's "worth" $26,000 trade...for WHAT?? I'd still owe $22,000+ and my retirement income has increased ZERO in the last 5 years. Uneconomically sound to make that move, starting over 'rebuilding' what the factory screwed up, not on my radar. I can do a whole lotta fixin' for that kinda money.

We are in about the same position. Close to retiring but haven't set a date. I have no interest in a new TT. Overpriced and underbuilt. We bought a used 2006 25RKS a year and a half ago. It was almost unused by the previous owner. Put new tires and water heater ignitor on it and went camping. We have added a few things such as a 2nd battery, inverter, and a couple of portable solar panels so we can boondock for a few days if we want. We have already put close to 7000 miles on it, including 3700 Missouri to Montana and back. Hopefully have it for many more years.

I agree...our '16 pinnacle has been solid with only small switches and fittings replaced. We like the mdqs Floorplan but our front living pinnacle is hard to leave. We're retiring fully this spring and we're on the fence on which way to go.

I have a propane/electric Norcold fridge in my camper and I really like it but it's going on 10 plus years old now. I would likely replace it with a 12V fridge and was wondering how fast they cool down and if a single deep cycle battery would be sufficient to precool it since I have no electricity in my storage facility.
