Keyless entry on 2014 Eagle

The keyless entry is not an option on the 2014 eagle travel trailer, but when looking at the archives on Jayco's website, I noticed it was an option in 2012 and 2013. Why would they not offer this anymore?
Would an aftermarket kit would be an alternative?

Makes us 2012 Eagle owners with that option nervous.

We have a 2014 Jayco Eagle travel trailer that has the keyless entry. Is was an option for us on our 298RLDS. Have not had issues with it yet and have owned it since July 2013.

Here is the one on our unit.

We have a 2014 Eagle 338RLTS with the Bauer keyless entry from the Factory.

Works well but goes through batteries. When we bought the TT the batteries were dead and we have had it about 4 months and just put in another set and you have to reprogram every time you replace the batteries. Thankfully we keep a set of keys in the TV.

BTW the little ti-nee tiny itty bitty screws are really hard to find when they drop into the gravel at the Campground.

The keyless entry came with our 2014 Eagle 338rlts as well. I don't like it or use it simply because anyone who know how can reprogram the unit from the outside. I removed the batteries and just use the key which is on my car key ring anyway. The only time I use it is when my teenage son goes along. I put the batteries in and program a code for everyone to use just for that trip.

As best I can tell the Bauer keyless entry is a piece of Junk!

2013 fifth wheel

Our Eagle 5er has keyless and we almost always use it. The type ours came with has no batteries but gets power from two contacts in door frame from trailer batteries.

I'm curious, I wonder how many different keys there are for a trailer lock(s)?

I remember looking at trailers and seeing one salesman had I think 4 keys and he opened many trailers with one of the 4 keys.

A few years ago I had a truck stolen at a hotel, the police said it took about 10 seconds longer to break in then disable the column and drive away in it than if I had tossed him the keys.

If somebody wants in they'll get in.

I have the keyless entry on my 2012 31.5FBHS. I don't know the brand, but it does not look like the one pictured above. It has a separate key pad on the door. To my knowledge it does not have a battery and operates with power from the camper battery. Thus far, I have not had any problems with it, however, when activated, the mechanism moves with such force as to jar the door which worries me.

I know that big trucks like Freightliners only have about 11 different keys. Truck drivers that lock themselves out usually will find another driver with a key that will unlock their truck.

We had some fun this weekend, we stopped by an RV dealership and I tried my Jayco key in several different trailers and I'm proud to say it didn't open a single one.

I feel better now.
