Keys

How do you order new keys. Our unit came with just 2 keys. Would like to have more. We have the keyless entry which is hit and miss. Sometimes it works most time it doesn't.

whatever the lock manufacturer is, go online and you'll find places where you can order them by your key #

goto a locksmith

i went to my local securepro locksmith, he had the key blanks and cut me a key for $8.00. he was also able to duplicate my Proven Industries lock, and master receiver and hitch lock set. ($3 and $4..)

ordering online would have incurred shipping charges

+1 on the locksmith. They usually have more knowledge and experience than the minimum-wage kid running the key cutting machine at the big box store. I wanted another two sets of keys for our old 2005 hybrid trailer, so I went to a reputable locksmith. They discovered that the keys to the trailer used the same blank as "The Club" steering wheel lock, just a little longer. I don't know if this is still true with RV door locks nowadays, but it worked back then.

Our Motorhome and our current TT have Bauer keys. Several hardware stores and a locksmith did not have Bauer key blanks. Bauer sells keys online for $3/key. I bought 3 and with shipping I think it worked out to be a little more than $4/key.

I agree - go to any locksmith. The large box stores like Home Depot usually don't carry the key blanks for our needs.

Is Bauer exclusive to just RV's?

x2 about Bauer. One of our friends is a locksmith & he did not have the keys. Told us to contact Bauer directly. Bauer asked information & we were able to get the correct keys for our unit.

I also ordered extras from Bauer based on my key number.

I also added a cam lock and specified for them to key its core to my key number. I used that to replace the outdoor shower door lock which was the only device on the entire trailer that had a separate key. Now all locks on the trailer open with a single key.
