King Jack Directional Antenna Protection

My 2019 26XD has the King Jack antenna. Before I put the winter cover on do you think I should make up a cover to go over the antenna? The antenna cover would have a wide base flat to disperse the weight of the heavy snow/slush/ice we get here in Southern New England. I'm thinking the weight of this wintery mix will put a lot of downward pressure on the small surface where the antenna mounts to the roof and possibly cause roof damage. My other Class c was the crank up/down type and this wasn't an issue.

Just off the top of my head, but I think the downward pressure of snow would have to be pretty substantial to break the mount. I don't know how many pounds per square inch it would take to damage the roof, but the mount's base spreads out that force to minimize a single point of pressure. On the other hand, depending on how your winters are, a cover used to spread out that foot print and protect the antenna, doesn't seem like it would hurt, either.

I put a plastic bucket over my antenna last year before putting the cover on. I didn't want the weight of the snow to pull the cover, which would pull the antenna to the side.
