Ladder

We have a 27.5 RTLS ready for pickup from the dealers lot. There is currently no ladder, the dealer forgot to add it. My question is, can a ladder be added after the fact. We are getting different opinions from different dealers. Does anyone have any experience with this?

You should contact Jayco directly with your VIN number they would be able to tell you if the backer blocks are inside the wall to bolt the ladded to.

I added a ladder to one of my older trailers - once up there, I found that the roof was not really intended to walk on ( I could hear the plywood crackling underfoot) and wound up laying out a 2x6 whenever I went up there.

My new 5er came with a ladder installed, and the roof is clearly intended to support maintenance foot traffic. ( no crackling)

food for thought - there may not be a ladder for a reason

we have the same unit. I emailed Jayco with the VIN and they told me that the unit was not equipped with the supports to accommodate adding the ladder. I ended up getting a telescoping ladder from Amazon.

I did this and Jayco told me that I did have blocking for a ladder. They sent me the schematic and I purchased a ladder from Stromberg-Carlson (there are better ladders than the one I bought) and installed it myself. Sure enough, the wood braces were exactly where the drawing showed.
