Lady bugs!!!

Hello fellow Glampers.
I recently purchased a new Eagle 5th wheel and are very happy with it. Except!
Some how or another I seem to have picked up some unwanted passengers in the form of Lady Bugs.
Has anyone ever faced this and if so what do suggest to get rid of them?

Welcome Aboard!

They probably are Asian Lady Bugs, they look very similar to Lady Bugs. They can get bad in some areas!

Pends on your prefered method to get rid of them. There are poisons and traps. A spray bottle with soapy water and a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol works well.

Ladybugs aka Asian Beetles

I use Harris Asian beetle spray. Safe after it dries and continues to kill at least several weeks.

We did face that. It been years, but we were camped near a farm field in Ohio and got infested with Asian Lady Bugs. We used commercial sprays (don't remember what brand) and got rid of them.

We were told they were in the farm field (soy beans if I'm remembering right). The harvest or the next thing a farmer does to his field makes them take to the air.

Getting rid of them was like child's play compared to stink bugs. Remember those?

Ok then. I think I will try a fogger before the next trip. We have ours parked in a field out behind our house here in San Antonio. We have probably killed a couple hundred already.
Thank you

If you have a lot of dead ones, or live ones, a small shopvac type vacuum works well. These little critters like to winter in the walls, and they head towards the windows when things start to warm up in spring. I've tried a couple of different foggers, but the ones I've tried may be oil based? Not sure, but if you spray around a window it leaves a residue on the glass. Cleans right off, but just be aware.

I've used my trusty handheld Dirt Devil in the past, but requires a good cleaning after steady use keeping the 'Bugs' at bay. Arkansas and Texas during November/December seems to be my Asian Lady Bug battle ground states while camping.

I've found they can gain entry into the RV from the slide seals......, gathering between the wiper seals waiting for the slide to be retracted and then have a field day inside the RV

Don’t like to use a foggier, but I had to after returning from a trip in which we picked up a chigger infestation.

Those asian ladybugs suck. Once they populate a place, the pheremones they release just keep attracting more and more.

Careful! In Florida we have what's call blind mosquitos...the state was going to fog them, until they found out an endangered bird eats them. So now, they make a mess on windshields and fronts of cars.

And then there are those lovebugs....

Indeed. Used my camper at our farm in eastern AR during deer season (Nov. and Dec.). Fought the beetles the whole season.

The asian beetles are very easy to get rid of; go to the $ store and buy a large citrus smelling air freshener, they will be gone in a day or so

The best citrus air freshener I've tried is OdoBan Real Citrus orange. You can get it at Dollar General. We use it all over the house to control odors.Click image for larger version
