We looked long at hard at the leatherette and in the end decided to go with the cloth. The leatherette is very thin and I wouldnt think it would take much to tear it. As our dog travels with us, and as he owns the joint, he spends time in the chairs so we were afraid of a tear. On the upside the leatherette would be much simpler to clean. I think the cloth will wear better over time.
Just my .02.

Leatherette a fancy name for plastic... I'd pass on it..

Depends on your situation. If you let your dog on the furniture, do not get leatherette. If you have little kids along that spill things constantly, it would be a wise choice.

+1. I invested in the couch covers numerous retailers sell at $20-$50 bucks and they save my fabric from the kids and dog. Take it out and shake and the couches look like new.

We got the leatherette and was told upon delivery that it does scratch very easy, so I would think any animals would not work out very well. It does look good and so far we have not experienced any negatives. Good luck! (I am also looking for any Tampa/Clearwater campgrounds for next spring if anyone knows)

That goes against what I thought... I thought the leatherette would last longer than the cloth. My old camper is cloth and very thin and threadbare. I assumed the vinyl/leatherette would withstand more abuse.
Is the general consensus that the fabric is better? I have a 2 year old and soon to be new boy who will likely spill things, but also 3 min pins with sharp nails...

I hate sitting on hot sticky seats in the summer. You can flip the cloth cushions over and have a wipeable surface.

Check out Lazy Days. It's next to the dealership. Nice pool, small resturant and close by other resturants.

Go with the cloth and get it protected (Scotchguard). It is way more comfortable than that plastic stuff and you can get it reupholstered if the time comes.

Leatherette is too hot in the summer, and too cold on a cool fall day. We opted for cloth. Much more comfortable. Scotch Guard and / or slip on covers take care of the spills.

We have the leatherette, and a small dog that loves the couch, and have had no issues so far. It's easy to clean and, though we expected to, haven't noticed the heat/cold that others have mentioned.

You can get covers for both....pick what your eye likes best and cover if necessary!
I have cloth in mine and I'm going to cover both sofas as it will protect from Sun and make cleaning easier.

We have leatherette and I love the look and comfort and also because it is easy to clean. Another thought is that it will always be in style.

I had a real leather sofa in my S&B house, and the dog had it scratched up pretty badly. My eagle came with the leatherette sofa, so I immediately bought a cover for it. After full-timing for the past 3 months, I have learned a few things about the leatherette sofa: 1) The slip cover does just that - it slips and slides around on the sofa, is a pain to keep moving it back into place, so I just removed it; 2) While the leatherette feels thin, it is surprisingly durable. Sometimes the dog gets in a few scratches before I can correct him, but my sofa shows no sign of scratches and no damage from them. 3) I've found the leatherette to be much cooler than leather/vinyl in the heat, and warmer than leather/vinyl in the cold. Maybe not as cool/warm as cloth, but not bad at all. 4) The leatherette is a breeze to clean. Sand, dog hair, general dirt just brush right off. My mug holder fell off the wall (twice) and spilled coffee on the sofa. I blotted up the coffee with paper towels, then sponged it off with a little dish soap & water. No stain, no soaking through to the padding, no hassle!
If you have children or pets and like the look of the leatherette, I'd strongly recommend it.
Just my $0.02!

Ours is a combo. Arms are leatherette. They are holding up. We have not been able to find a product to clean them other than a damp cloth w/ some soapy water.

I have multiples of both! This has been my experience with my in-laws camper.

We have the leatherette in our current TT had cloth in our previous TT and have had no issues with either. But then we don't allow dogs or cats in our TT so that I think preserves the trailer in itself.

I would vote cloth but not the soft velvety feeling type of cloth that I have seen in some trailers (mostly older ones). It needs to be the more thick sturdy type. That stuff holds up well, can be scrubbed without damage (if needed), and I think it is a better material for hot/cold conditions. The vinyl (leather) transfers a lot of that to you whereas the cloth is less apt to do that. I also hate when the back of my legs stick to the furniture as can happen on the vinyl.
I like leather in my car and in some rooms in my house but not so much in my RV.
