LED Awning Lights Failure

I just took delivery on Jayco 2015 27LRS on April 14. While showing my neighbor the camper, I illuminated the LED awning lights. Then a minute later, half the of the length of the lights went dark. I am assuming a defect. Since this is basically a minor problem and I am a long distance from the dealer, I was wondering how easy it would be to replace. I know it's still under warranty but time is money and if its simple repair, I rather pay for a new strip and do it myself. Would Jayco send me a new one at N/C for me to install?. Dealer does not return phone calls and I am waiting for Jayco's response via e-mail.

The story is always the same; dealers never return calls. Jayco always goes through the dealer for repairs and parts as I remember. Just check where the fault lie and fix it yourself. Or order a new strip where ever you can get it. A lot of times dealer want you to drop it off and in most cases the fuel cost to drop it off and pick it up is more than the repair.

Shortly after delivery of my Jayco the string on the large window blind broke (due to rubbing on an open grommet). I called Jayco, gave them my VIN, told them that my dealer was 200 miles from me and if they would send me a replacement string, I would repair it myself. They sent me a new complete blind (with string ). Go for it!

Had the same issue. Dealer replaced it once and went bad with in weeks. One thing, they are bright and the bugs love it. I do need the traditional yellow ligh.

Already on my 3rd set on our 2014 375BHFS. Decided when this set craps out I'm really considering going back with a traditional "old school" but tried and true porch light.

We are on our second set. When this set goes out I am going to replace with a set of the color changing ones from ebay.

We are taking ours to the dealer to have our 3rd set installed. Only 2 more months of our 2 yr warranty.

The Meeker,

On our 375 you have to remove the glob of silicone where the 2 wires enter the trailer to get to the connection. In total its a 15-20 minute job.

I really don't know how manufacturers keep getting away with installing sub par parts on RV's. My 2015 Pinnacle had both of the front cap led's replaced, now both lower are partially burned out and under my main awning it is so dim you can't see anything. My slide awning is wonderful (I can see to BBQ) After reading some of the horror stories, maybe I've been lucky.
