Question Leg stabilizers

We just had our 7 way plug replaced while at Creekfire Resort in Savannah. While doing the work, our repair guy pointed to the hydraulic legs, and mentioned that it was not good to have them so high. he was looking at the front legs. The camper was on a concrete pad, pretty level, but the front legs were a bit high, but not excessively so. He was referring to wear and tear on the cylinders, as well as stability of the camper. He was suggesting either wood blocks or blocks such as the Andersen red ones I see quite often. Would like to hear the expert's opinion on this. My dealer was somewhat non committal on them, although he liked them as well

On our last two 5th wheels we have used the Andersen buckets. Helped greatly in the stability and being able to autolevel quickly as the jacks didn't have to extend as far. Now our on our Eagle HT 28.5RSTS it only had the 4 jacks so we had just 4 buckets, on our Pinnacle 32RLTS it has 6 jacks. So the buckets are used on the middle and rear jacks as those are the only ones that the buckets fit because the front jacks have a large 12" foot. For those we went with snap pads but don't use any blocking unless we have to. We also use the Steadyfast stabilizer system too on both 5th wheels and that took a lot of sway out of the 5th wheel and really stabilized it.

Thanks, I forgot to mention we have the snap pads, and not sure how they would work with the buckets. Camper is pretty stable, could always be better, but no complaints. I am mostly concerned about the legs getting damaged. We camp, Glamp my wife calls it, on concrete pads 99% of the time.

The buckets would still work with the snap pads. There's only about a 1/4" lip on them so the snap pad would just conform around them or you can get filler pieces to take up that space. The nice thing with the buckets without the snap pads is they have built in magnets to hold onto the feet as the legs are lower. No guessing on exactly where to put them. As for the issue with legs getting damaged from being extended, I would say you are safe the way you are going, specially if you are mostly on concrete level pads. Probably the biggest thing is maintenance and cleaning the legs so dirt and grit doesn't get up into the seals and wear them away and then cause leaks.

Great, I was looking at them yesterday and they do any a little water and soap. I was not aware of the magnets, very ingenious.

The Andersen blocks help minimize shake from the legs being so extended. Plus, give the legs a bit more working range depending on the terrain. Easier to use them without the snap pads.

Combine them with a stabilizer, such as https://www.therockrvstabilizer.com/, to remove almost all shake/wiggle in the unit. This combo makes our 4113 feels like it is permanently mounted it becomes to solid.
