Lexel sealant question

Hello everybody I'm hoping someone can give me a quick answer. I usually use RV proflex to seal around everything. I found a crack in the proflexling around stove vent on outside and it's supposed to rain all afternoon. I remember a lot of people talking about Lexel. My question is do I do the soapy finger like with the proflex?

Is the Lexel sealant acceptable as a touch up for use at exterior locations where the manufacturer used the black sealant, like at the corner seams.

Here's the skinny on smoothing sealants: It's determined by the base chemistry of the sealant; Lexel (and just about all 'water' clear products) is 1K urethane based....smoothing is done with mineral spirits on the finger. If it's clear and smells like silicone....it's silicone.

Silicone based sealants including RTV are smoothed with denatured alcohol.

Acrylic based sealants (even those that are siliconized or latex combines) are smoothed with the soapy finger.

Using the right 'smoother' and pressure eliminates drag that causes the bump puddle that rookies end up with.

For both silicone and acrylic we use a spray bottle of the 'smoother' to lightly wet the line after application and then smooth. For urethane we use a disposable brush, dipped in mineral spirits and lightly wet the line, then smooth. Clean up the mineral spirits after the 24 hour cure.

Used sealants in mold manufacturing/pattern making for over 20 years.
