Locked out

We have a 2022 Jayco Greyhawk 29mv. I've looked both sets of keys inside. Other than a Lock Smith would anyone have any idea. I could gain access from one of the storage compartments but the rear slide is not out. Not sure if the slide could be manually brought out from the outside.

The cab Ford keys also locked inside?

Not sure how many different RV door lock keys there are, but wonder if a fellow campers key would work?

If I had no other option, I might try messing with the emergency exit window; see if it could be pried a bit then attempt to unlatch. Probably not without breaking.

I assume you pushed and slid all the windows.

2022 on a Ford chassis and less than year since purchase
I would Call Jayco for roadside assistance thru coach net 877-797-7161.
They will send someone out to unlock it free

Check the rear bedroom window. It never latches that well anyway.

My wife locked herself out of a 2020 Ford Truck once at the Gas Station.. She called the dealer, the dealer gave her a Ford 800 Number and after confirming she was the owner of the vehicle, they unlocked the doors remotely over the air waves... Get a load of that...

I would try kirkelli's idea first.

If that doesn't work, it's likey https://www.rvlocksandmore.com/ has the key you need if you can provide the number. Don't know if Jayco CS could provide it, but maybe they can.

If those things don't work, call the key seller and see if they can suggest something. It won't be the first time they have received that call.

I'm sure the point is moot by now, but the RV is accessible thru the rear driver side storage compartment. The bed will push up and you can crawl in thru that compartment.

A locksmith friend got an emergency call to help a person get in their car after they had locked the keys inside. My friend said he could be there in about an hour. The frantic voice on the other end of the phone asked, "can you please get here sooner? It looks like rain and the top is down on my convertible!"

Yes, slides can be opened manually. On my Jayco (2005), I can crawl underneath the main slide (bedroom should be the same), and with the correct socket and ratchet, I can turn the nut that manually operates the slide. You have to release the motor brake lever first.

I now carry this socket and a spare ratchet with me in case I can't close the slide when at a campsite.

Had this happen and ended up paying a locksmith $100 to come unlock the door. I now keep a set of spares including a cab key as well as a house door key zip tied to the frame.

Us too! Extra keys are the first thing we get for any new rig.

Hidden somewhere inconspicuous for these emergencies.

If you can't figure it out call a locksmith and count it as a learning experience!

The first thing I did when I purchased my rig was i installed a key safe box in propane bay. I keep the chassis key in there. You have to know to look there and the safe is pass coded. have had to use is several times as the key pad on the house door has failed a few times.

I wondered this too. Could it be that the OP locked the door from the inside, then departed the camper from the driver or passenger door cab, then pressed the door lock button?

It happened to me when I got out to fuel the rig. Accidentally locked the door with the fob.
