Looking for Center grease cap....

I have searched high and low for this part and even the name of this thing. Somehow we've lost the center grease cap that goes into the center of the wheel. We were mid-trip and just covered with duck tape but would like to get another one. I'm posting a pic of the one with and the one w/out.

This is on a 2018 14.5 Jayco SLX Baja Edition.

Does anyone know a place to get one? We've emailed the Jayco parts dept. with pictures of the part (as instructed on their website) and heard nothing back.

What do you even call the thing? It's the actual little black cap that says "Jayco" on it.

I had the cap blow off when a wheel bearing blew out. I had to go through my dealer and yes a photo was needed. It took about a week to get.

Going through a dealer seems to be the key.

They are called wheel center caps. Have you asked a Jayco dealership, or is that what you meant by Jayco parts dept?

I am pretty sure you need to buy the entire cap, as one part. I doubt you will find Jayco branded items outside of Jayco dealers. You could replace all of them with generic caps.

You will have to go through your dealer or a dealer as JAYCO does not sell direct. You might also check here. They are a parts dealer and not the factory.

See my comment above. I found the box my replacement cap came from. It was ordered through my dealer and Jayco but drop shipped from Jayco's source. It does not have a Jayco logo, but so what. It also included the entire center decorative part and cost about $24.

Thanks! Ok I've called and sent a photo to our local dealer in TX. Hope the bearing didn't blow out already! We just had it re-packed about 1.5k miles ago. I think maybe they didn't put it on secure enough? Do you think it being off for a little while on the road could mess things up inside? Seemed to travel fine the next 1k miles after we duct taped it.

I doubt that you hurt anything. The cover I got is cheap plastic and if not properly installed guaranteed to fly off. Your duct taping is more than I've done so enjoy.

The bearings are not exposed. The should be a rubber dust cap visible covering that area without the duct tape engineering effort

Right, but we're not sure where and when it exactly fell off and how far we drove before the duct tape fix. :/

It is primarily decorative.

Not sure if it would fit but wouldn't a buddy bearing with a grease fitting be better?

I don't know. I haven't put mine on yet as I'm going to have to take the tire off to be able to replace the decorative center hub that holds the plastic cap. This is definitely a lowest bidder product from the land of cheap stuff across the Pacific.

I seem to recall seeing generic replacements in an RV shop. I’d bet the opening is a “standard” size and a generic would fit. My hubs have the e-z lube feature. The grease caps have a rubber cover.
Measure your opening and see if these will work (probably available from Amazon too).

The cover is either called grease cap or a buddy bearing. Measure the interior dimension of the hub, or better yet take the other cover to your auto parts store. They can match it for size. The buddy bearing has a grease fitting in it allowing for easier maintenance. Hope this helps.
