Loose gutter

Washing the fifth wheel today I realized I have a gutter over a slide that's loose. It's screws are loose and it's pulled away from the sealant. I'm thinking of going to a size larger screw and cleaning the old sealant and applying new silicone. Looking for other suggestions if anyone else has had this problem.

I’d also add a few screws in different spots in case you have rotted wood behind the original screws. I like butyl tape if possible behind the gutter then seal the screw heads with Dicor.

Dicor BT-1834-1 1/8" x 3/4" x 30' Butyl Seal Tape https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001FCB4JS..._Cxh0EbXQ59JHP

I would not use silicon. Silicon is difficult to remove and does not accept reapplication very well. New silicon doesnt stick to old silicon very well.

If you have wood framing try to probe the holes to check for water damage. If the wood appears solid I would inject gorilla glue into the holes and then use a slightly larger diameter screw. Be sure to protect the surfaces around it as the glue will expand. The glue will react and make a solid repair. I would also add several more screws to really secure it.

I was assuming the screws were just going through the skin and whatever sealant was used was what they depended on mainly to hold the gutter up.
