Good for you. What spot do you have. Could be hot while you are there. But looking at the mountains is worth it. Before you get to Goldfield there is a muesum about the Superstitionns and mining. It is interesting. If you get to it go past Canyon Lake to Tolortilla Flats. some good hamburgers there, Plus if you go past the flats the road will turn extra small and you will end up at Apache lake. We will be up there Nov. 17-24 for Thanksgiving. We are looking forward to it. Have fun. and enjoy. Ernie

Ernie, I expect it to be hot. Probably not the best time to go but I missed going in March due to illness.
We have site 31 and 32. Dragging our neighbor with us.
I will definitely seek out Tolortilla Flats for some good burgers!!
How do you like camping at Thanksgiving? I have been thinking about it for this year.
Also, I found an outdoor shower that is awesome!!! LOTS of room, take as long a shower as you want and saves on gray water. I had an extension hose put on my outdoor shower. It is long enough to go in the shower tent.

This will be the first year that we are there. We are normally at Catalina State Park. We went thru there last sunday on our way to Canyon Lake to go on the boat ride. We have inlaws visiting from Penn. They are leaving Saturday. There were 3 campers in the park and it really wasn't that bad. When are you going to be there, dates. Have a good time Ernie

Might be wrong but theRanger station might sell Ice. You may have to drive 5-6 miles to get fuel but it is no bigie. You are not that far away from Apache Junction so there are a lot of things to do. Phone number for Lost Dutchman is 480-982-4485 if you have any questions.

Be sure to go inside the restaurant at Tortilla Flats. Up around the bar are saddles for stools each named after a famous horse... Brings out the kid still in you...

Hopefully you don't have a hugh truck with you as the Apache trail feeding all the Lakes up to the North is a narrow two lane windy road for forty/fifty miles or so. Fish Creek Canyon is a great down hill road right as you enter the two lane trail road going north. Last time we was there coming back from seeing all the Lakes and Desert pull outs we got stuck at the bottom of the Fish Creek as some Bus tried to come down the canyon road and got the Bus stuck on the overhanging rocks. We hiked all kinds back trails at the bottom of the Canyon road to have something to do for three or four hours...

Yep Roy that hill is something else. Came up it with wifes Suzuki and darn near got run off the hill, by a lady in a small car, don't think that she knew how to drive in close spots. Wife said that next time we are taking the Excursion. hahahahaha

Fortunately for us and a whole bunch of other stranded folks there was a nice pull off section at the bottom of Fish Creek and we went searching for neat rocks in the creek there. Found all kinds of interesting rocks hehe... It was way too far to go back North and get back to Apache Junction via another road so everyone there just figured best thing to do was wait it out. Took quite awhile to get the BUS pulled back...

There was a couple camping along the creek and I guess we invaded their privacy big time. There was 15-20 of us folks wandering around the creek for several hours haha...

Any of those up on the top loop....32, 30, 27 are great.

Probably a couple more but take a look at the map when you can.
