Maxxis Tire made in Thailand

I just received 5 new Maxxis 8008 185 80R 13 tires All tires were marked as made in Thailand.

Tires that are being replaced, same brand and size were made in China

Have no idea if this applies to other sizes

The good news is; you can't find a single bad report on the internet on Maxxis 8008 tires.
I keep saying this to see if anyone can find one, I can't. Even if a USA manufacturer decides to make an ST tire in the US I will stick with Maxxis. The last USA made ST tires I owned were replaced within second year of ownership due to sidewall failure. It was the company with the blimp before they moved that line to China.

I'll stick with Maxxis also Although I don't have much experience with them. They were on the TT when I purchased it early this year. I looked at the tires and they looked almost new then I looked for the MFG. date and I misread the date and thought it showed 07 which I new was most likely pushing things a bit. My last two trips proved different On the first trip 80 miles one way I noticed that the tread was just starting to separate so I put the spare on That was when I took a good look and found out the date of MFG was 1803 18th week of 2003. The TT was built May 2004 The tires were now over 12 years old. on the next trip I had another tire start to separate. Lucky that I had another spare with me. Decided not to drive it back home and left the TT at a storage place till I could get all new tires. Yes I was very lucky that no tire blew and caused any damage. In the process of having two tires mounted and on the next trip will install them and then when I get set up at the campground I will remove two others and have the new tires mounted. My feeling on Maxxis is if they lasted 12 years I will make sure that they are replaced long befor that on the new set. Lesson learned but at least not completely the hard way.

Wow, that's older than my 10 year old Goodyears when I got my TT, just saw date and cracks like you and replaced. FWIW I went with Hercules made by Cooper in GA went up to class D, so far so good. Sales guy said he races and has had them on a trailer he's pulled up and down the south for 2 years w/o issues. I was looking for Maxxis but had a hard time here, Discount tire website said unavailable in my area, and it wanted to sell me other brands that I think were inferior.
