Might have to make a change in plans - Banff looks washed out

Terrible images on the TV about the flooding in Canmore, near Banff. I am supposed to leaving in two weeks for a 5 week trip to the Canadian Rockies.

With so many bridges and roads washed out, I may have to change my plans.

I hope all campers in that area are safe.

Ensign.

Wow that's pretty crazy! I would be a shame not to take the 5 week trip though. Beautiful area.

I remember staying in Banff when I was around ten years old. It was a beautiful little town back then. When I took my kids on a holiday there I was shocked to see what this quaint little town turned into. Yes it's beautiful and it still caters to tourists but theyve taken away the small town look and feel. Signs in multiple languages, four lane highway thru the park which is now tolled. Restaurants are very very expensive and yes Mcdonald is flooded because it seemed like there was no other choice. The scenery is spectacular. That hasn't changed. The provincial parks there were fabulous with great programs for kids and adults.

If you can't get into Banff, check out Radium hot springs a bit southwest...
