Missed the memo

Sorry, somehow I missed the memo about spring being cancelled. Woke up this morning to an inch of snow on the ground and 17 degrees. Checked the spam folder and there it was. Moved it to the inbox.

I'll have to go out an measure, but it looks like that we woke up to 4"-5" again this morning. With what we got last Monday, we are over a foot of fresh snow since April 1st.

Here too. We jumped from a mild 70 F to 90 F and might see 100 F this week, don't remember the 80s.

There is a warrant out for the Punxsutawney Phil’s arrest.

The groundhog accurately predicted six more weeks of winter on Feb. 2.

While it was downright springlike in the second half of February, winter came storming back in March over much of the nation. The Northeast has been hit particularly hard hit with four nor’easters.
The sheriff’s office in Monroe County, Pa., located between Allentown and Scranton, claims it was deceived and has issued an arrest warrant for the rodent. Its rationale is that winter has gone on more than six weeks; the implication being Phil should have warned everyone winter would last even longer.

Winter storm watch here, should change to a warning later today. 4-7 inches of snow possible tomorrow.

Is that going to be cold enough to effect the growing season down there? I know that I usually have onions and peas in the garden by April 15th. Not going to happen this year.

Ground is warming up but the freezes kill any buds that have sprouted. Anybody that has already planted maders and peppers are prolly goin to be replanting
