Moon Over Arizona

I just stepped outside to unhook my 40 amp battery charger and saw something pretty cool in the sky. The sun just went down in the west, and the moon was peeking over the eastern horizon.

Right after that a Schwann's truck drove past, honking it's horn. I guess he gets some business from us snowbirds! Need to stop him next time.

Rockypointers, I don't know what mountains those are. The picture was take towards the east from Imperial Lake LTVA, about 20 miles from Yuma.

I have been watching the moon the past couple of nights here in Virginia. Sure is pretty and big in the cool evening skies coming up over my tree line to the East......

Makes me wish I was camping somewhere...

Took this moon picture while it was setting over the Wind River Mountains here around Lander, Wyoming. It was 6 degrees below zero and the cement was cold on my bare feet, and we weren't camping, it's too darn cold to do that around here right now. Let's see if this works.Click image for larger version

Great picture jal0710. But it makes me shiver when I look at it! And you, barefooted when it's -6 degrees out there? Wow!

Maybe I have been living under a rock, but what is a dog burn?

Think "Wienie Roast". It is usually held out in the desert on the nite of the full moon, however it is going to be Monday nite instead. The location is a secret known only to the members of the Fugawie Tribe.

And just where does this Fugawie tribe live ? How many members does it have ? And is it related to the Zuzunie tribe ?

The Fugawie, (as in where the fugawie?), tribe lives in the desert north of Yuma, AZ. There are a significant number of members and are only seen during the full moon. The tradition is that every full moon the tribesmen meet at a certain specified place and follow Slobberjaws into the desert to the secret site of the dog burn. I don't think they are any relation to the Zuzunies, but I could be wrong.
