more problems with the swift 184bh
After one year and numerous problems with our swift 184 we hoped this season would be better. Our first major trip this year began with a flat tire the first day at the campground. When I removed the tire it had a huge bubble down the center and the tread was separating. Checked the other tire and found it to be severely cracked on the sidewall. Installed the spare which looked fine but by the time we had travelled the 150 miles home it to had severe cracking on the sidewall. We estimate about 1000 total miles on these tires. The manufacture date on them is2011. The tire brand is Trail America. These tires have never been abused by us, no tt overloading etc. Also these tires have been covered while the tt is in storage..Had the tires replaced at Les Schwab where I was told that trailer tires are not held to the same standards as car tires. A call to the dealer got us nowhere, apparently there is no warranty on the tires. At any rate we are all set now , our next trip in 7 days. We were lucky not to have had an issue while we were towing the tt. I just wanted to pass this along to everyone, check your tires carefully, make sure your spare has air in it, and that you have a jack for raising the tt. ALSO, follow your owners manual for the correct procedure for jacking up your tt. happy camping !!!
