Mounting TV bracket?

Ok need suggestions on how and what to use to mount to the wall for a flat screen tv? We have that sticker that says "mount tv here". Any suggestions? The wall seems so thin I would want a bracket that allows me to remove the tv during towing. I'd be afraid a good bump would tear the wall open. ha ha

Good question. I'm looking to finally mount a television in the front bedroom where it says mount TV here. I will say you should not have to remove during trips as our living room area television has been fine. It was factory installed. I think it just needs to be done right and it can stay during transit...

You may want to contact jayco, with your VIN and ask them for a schematic of that wall.

The wall is reinforced at the "mount TV here" and I believe there is a screen size limit.

There is a large plywood piece behind that sticker. I suggest you get a Mor Ryde TV mount. They are designed for RV's, Amazon is a good source. Lag screws are included. as for size of TV check with Jayco or look online for model with a factory TV.

Our TT was pre-flat screen era so there was no mount here sticker. If you make a backing block and through bolt the bracket to the wall, it is not going to come down. We bought our Flat Screen and bracket at Best Buy and we have never had any problems with it. Plenty of other things (like doors and cabinet frames) have come apart and had to be glued back together due to rough roads.

With a little ingenuity, the backing block can be dressed up and made functional with close hooks etc. It just depends on what is on the other side of the wall.

May I also suggest you do some searching on this forum for there are suggestions as to the mounts to purchase along with installation pictures. For us, we have an "entertainment center" that comes with a flat-mounted 32" that you couldn't easily view from the dinette and it was difficult to 'disengage' SO we purchased a articulating RV/locking mount from Amazon.

Thank you all.....I contacted Jayco and got the schematics. I also found a Mor Ryd mount I want to get that holds up to 25#. I didn't realize there is a size limit on the tv for the wall. I figured I could go by what the mount can hold. I wasn't planning on putting anything more than a 32". Probably not even that big.

I am also looking at the Mor/Ryde mount on Amazon (the one with the 25 lb limit). Does anyone know if I need a larger mount than that for the living room if the 32 inch tv I plan on purchasing weighs less than 20 lbs? I see Hattie bought the bigger one...is that a better idea for a 32 inch tv?

YES, we first purchased the less expensive/lighter one and the required adaptor plate [of course, more $$] BUT even with a 32" Jensen 12-volt TV [less than 25#] it sagged after just one trip so we got the more robust mount [no adaptor plate required] and are now very pleased.

Hattie I have a 32" mounted in an entertainment center but the couch is at a 90 degree angle to the TV. Could this mount be mounted to the top of a cabinet, pulled out and swiveled 90 degrees?

We extend and swivel it 90 degrees. When pushed back into the entertainment center, it locks and there is a chain to release the articulated arm.

Hattie, do you know if you got the TV1-021 (up to 35 lbs) or the TV1006H (for up to 50 lbs) for your 32" tv? We are picking up our new travel trailer this week and it does not come with any tvs. I will be purchasing 2 Mor/Ryde mounts from Amazon, as soon as I figure out what size I need. Does anyone know if there is a limit on the size of the tv for the bedroom? I was hoping to put in a 28" tv with a dvd player if the wall will hold it.

the mount up to 35 #'s will work for 28" TV. Are you buying 110V TV or 12 volt?

So I must need the TV1-006H (up to 50 lbs) for the 32" tv then, right? I was planning on buying 110V...but please tell me, the advantages or disadvantages. I don't have a generator...wouldn't I need one for the 12V?

Our television is the Jensen 32" 12-volt; initially we thought the 35# would work - but what a mistake so we returned it for the more heavy-duty bracket. The reason the 35# DIDN'T please us is that it quickly began sagging after driving on some rough roads. This is one instance where going more robust is well worth it ... we didn't want lots of movement of the TV while on the road. We are now very pleased.

Thought I'd bump this up because I need help again. Finally got the schematics for my camper. I want to mount a small lcd tv. Do I need one that will allow me to remove the tv for travel or can I put one up permanently? I don't want the bouncing on rough road to damage the wall from the weight of the tv. Any suggestions on a mount? I only plan on putting a 32" or less tv up.

I just bought and mounted in the Bedroom a 24" Samsung HD Smart LCD TV. model # T24E31OND from Costco. It comes with a wall mount bracket that works perfect. If you press on the wall you can fell where the backer board is. For me I mounted it just to the right of the sticker. I think it would hold fine while traveling but it is very easy to left off and store on the bed while traveling The nice thing is it is the mount is very close to the wall. On the box it says: "Wall mountable stand"...........
