"Movable" appliances

I research trailers all the time it seems. Both Jayco and other builders have slides that include fridges, sinks, stoves, etc. I don't think I've seen a bath in a slide though!

My question: are the hoses (propane, water, drainage) that connect to items in slides more prone to failure? It just seems like that is a bad idea to me.

If not designed properly probably, but they have been in use for a long time.

I have had several rigs with utilities in the slides. Never had any problems but I would suggest regular inspections of the moving parts of the utilities.

Look for pinched or kinked hoses, cable ties that wear and break, debris etc.

And that’s exactly what I would not want to have to do. There is already enough other stuff to check on.

But if you really like the floor plan and it has appliances in the slideout then so be it. That’s why there are so many different makes and models and designs because there is money to be made from the people who are willing to buy them.

I've had my 2013 Eagle 266RKS for 7 years now. It has the fridge in the slide, and I've had no issues with it - and I'm a Full-timer. I typically stay in one spot for 4-6 months, so the slide doesn't go in/out all that often. But I do inspect the propane line periodically, and have never seen any damage from "flexing" as the slide goes in/out. I would have a little concern about flexing of water/drain lines if the kitchen sink were located in the slide. :cnfused:
