Mystery Fitting ?

Can someone advise what this fitting is for? It's next to the area where I'm getting ready to install a Carefree Awning Support and don't want to drill into anything.
A similar one is mounted on an inside wall where there is a sticker indicating the rig is prewired for a solar set up (the solar set up was an option I ordered), so I'm thinking it has something to do with the pre-wired solar set up.

Pretty sure that's a temperature sensor.

One on the outside I can understand. The one on the inside across from the entry door sits right in the middle of the friggin wall !!!
Could have found a better out of the way location for it !!!
Didn't want to pull it out/apart, and didn't really think it was solar related as any wire attached to it would be very small.
Have no idea, if it is a temp sensor, where the reading for the outside would be. Inside one I could see being part of the thermostat for ac/heat.

I googled up rv temp sensor...and that's what it is, a Coleman temp sensor for a zone control unit.
I guess the one outside lets me know it's time to turn ac on, open all the windows and door, and cool the outside perimeter of our rig !

Looks like an ambient temp sensor like Marcm said. But it should read somewhere inside.
