Put your year make and model of your rv in your signature so people will know how to help you.

Welcome Aboard! I see from your profile you are located in Australia. There are a few Australians on this forum, but not many. I am not sure how similar the Australian and US Melbourne's are.

X2, please add what year, make and model. That switch might only be only used on a few rigs.

If no one knows, you might be want to reachout to Jayco, with your vin number and ask. Good chance it is in the 12V electrical schematic. If the unit is under warranty, they may or may not provide the schematic. At least here in the US, they are very stubborn about providing info when the unit is still in warranty.

Good luck, happy camping

flip her on and start walking around. More than likely a light somewhere, possibly a porch light or awning light. ????? Don't be shy, snoop around :-)

For solar maybe? 20A is a big switch for much else. Maybe a breaker?

Nothing saying it's actually switching a 20A load. ;-)

True, but using a switch like that (in an RV) is usually used for appliances, solar or generators.

Very true. I'm just wondering if it was an add on by a previous owner. The style of switch doesn't quite match what I saw in a video walk through of a Jayco StarCraft 2013.

The size of that switch may have nothing to do with what it is operating IF it was all the person had when they were adding something.

Marcop, welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! Congratulations on the Jayco! We currently have about 500 members from Australia, so you do have good company here that may be able to help you.

There are some major differences between RVs made in the US, and those in Australia, so many questions about some specific parts you have on your trailers may need to be answered by those members here. I hope some of them chime in for you.

Can the switch cover be removed, to expose its wiring? Maybe the switch was installed to operate a feature that your model does not have. If it does have wiring, then the gauge (size) of wire could give you a clue as to what appliance or light, or ?? it is/was intended for.
If you find out, post back so we all know.

Nice place Australia. I hope to get there someday.

Just a thought based off something I saw on another site; Could it be for turning on/off your outdoor speakers?

Tank heater? Is it a switch for heat strip to warm the holding tank(s) in cold weather use?
