No, the camper (it's more comfortable, remember?). Jealous?

Congrats! Excellent choice.

You will soon become spoiled. You'll never have another trailer without one.

Electric tongue Jack

My friend told me that the first accessory I should get is an electric lift jack. I looked at a number of them as did my next door neighbor. I settled on a 3500 Lb jack for my Jayco Skylark. It came with all the wiring to connect to my 7 pin vehicle connector. It does not hook to the trailer battery. My neighbors Harbor Freight tongue jack last 3 times up and down then the shaft broke. I didn't under stand the oriental scream as the shaft twisted itself off, but I think it sounded Chinese. Mine is probably the same but I bought it from Northern Tools and so far great luck at $149 on sale.

Electric Tongue and HTT owners take note

Returned from our first outing after installing the elec tongue jack. Now That's Easy!

A word of note for you fellow HTT owners.

Didn't think of this prior, but....
As I unfolded the fore bunk, it came down to within about 1.5" of the jack head!
ANY taller and I would have a big problem on my hands.
With a load in the front bunk (me and my 220# and my svelt bride) I suspect it's just touching. I examined the bunk and jack head for damage and found none.
Thinking about raising the bunk by using the top hole in the cable support to give a little extra clearance and will most likely not give a noticeable tilt to the bed.
Putting the manual jack back on IS NOT AN OPTION! This is a great addition.
I bought the 3500# Atwood and it bolted right up. While lifting the trailer and TV to set the spring bars I don't think it even broke a sweat, I know I didn't. Overkill to be sure but I know I've got extra capacity come what may.

Do you guys & gals cover the jack head while in storage?

Sweet! Now isn't that a whole lot easier? Hehe

I don't cover mine while in storage or while camping either.

When the trailer is in storage I cover the jack with the bag form a camping chair. I cut the top off the bag with scissors if it's too long. They will last several seasons in the Texas sun.

I have an old Coleman Mach AC shroud to cover the Hensley hitch.

See pic below.

*jealous* I wish we could install an electric jack. Unfortunately with our 'heavy' tongue and bikes in the back of the 1/2 ton tv, our payload is close to max

Mike, We actually bounced around the idea of a new truck, but we already 'ate' about $3,700 in taxes/fee's when we purchased our 'high end' F-150. We bought it new for less than the going private party 'low blue book' rate after all the discounts/rebates/closeout etc, so shouldn't hurt too bad on selling it, but man, those taxes and fee's for a new truck... *sigh* we will be keeping the tv and tt for at least another 7 years before upgrading once again.
