Don and are still experimenting with loading the truckbed as well as the front of the tt. Although we only stow 'light items' in the front storage ares, if we can manage to get it down to 1000lbs from the current 1,070lbs, we may be able to consider an electric jack. We hope to figure this out before our next long distance road trip

Yikes, here in Texas they amount to about $2500 but that's for an XLT and not a Platinum. Still, it isn't cheap.

The shipping weight of the jack is 25lbs.

I doubt 25lbs is going to get the weight police down on you.

After subtracting the weight of manual jack your only adding 15 lbs.
