Question Need help choosing sealing/caulk for outer stripping

Like others, I have a problem where the rubber stripping used to cover the screws (around my coach door) frequently comes loose. It is screwed in at the top and then on each side at the bottom there is a screw to keep it tight. Last trip it managed to come out of the groove and was flapping in the wind. I had to unscrew and cut about an inch off while stretching then slowly work it into the 1/2” wide groove. Anyway, what can I use under the rubber to secure, and glue it in place? I read a post at one time and I swear it was just 100% silicone but could be wrong. Why about flex shot, Gorilla construction adhesive or locktite power grab? I don’t care if it doesn’t come off I just want something that will hold the weather striping in place once and for all. Thanks!

OSI QUAD caulking, Home Depot or Lowes. I used to run a thin bead along the entire edge.

Were you able to make the weatherstrip bond to the caulking or did you just use the caulking without the gasket material?

After reading the data sheets and watching some videos - sold. This sounds and looks like it will do the trick. Thanks!

I just used a few dabs in a few spots, this way IF I ever need to get to those screw, it would be easier. Never have, probably never will.

This is one to be careful of. If you manage to trap water under that strip then it can end up causing damage. On our old RV I removed the strips (they were cracking) and applied sealant over each screw.
