Heading back now and am in Fort Chiswill VA. We feel grateful we still have a house with stuff still in it.
Will post again when I have time after getting back. Stinks that the closest RV park I could find is 2.5 hours away and only for three weeks. I wish all the damn snow birds would stay away since all parks are full

Glad you still have a house Rock!!

Hoping for the best for you. We have been thinking about you and wondering if your new house made it thru. Brought the rig down to Crystal River to leave it for the season and we will run back north for hunting then back down after Thanksgiving. Keep us all posted. Keeping you in our thoughts.

Hate to hear that and hope and pray for everyone affected by Michael. We moved from Marianna, Florida about a year ago. We spent nearly every weekend at Mexico Beach, Cape San Blas or Saint George Island. Our favorite campgrounds were ST Joe Peninsula (which is now an island!)and St. George Island State Park. Even our old neighborhood in Marianna looks like a bomb site. sad, I tell you. But ,Lord willing, they will rebuild. We hope to move back to the area in the future.

Rock

We experienced the worst of Andrew and a complete rebuild of our home. Also, had to rebuild our place in the keys after Irma, I understand what you're going through and I feel terrible for you. Don't give up, it's a long hard pull to get things back together, but it will be worth it when your done. Hang in there.

I remember years ago when a hurricane hit the south part of Texas and the only thing standing was a hurricane proof house. Then this in Florida. Another hurricane house was left standing. Good luck on the rebuild. A lot of people lost a lot.

We do feel very lucky about our house. We have lived in our RV between camping and getting our home built for about 23 of the 35 months we have had it. Sometimes we wonder why we even got another home. Our FBTS has had some major problems but we love it and it feels like our home. The out pouring of help with supplies and services in Mexico Beach by all the agencies and relief organizations is unbelievable. Even after 26 years active and another 20 with the Coast Guard I am very impressed. Being on the receiving end gives u a different perspective.

Rock you are right on the outpouring of help. We live right on the Gulf here in Eastpoint, Fl. and have seen the convoys heading west from the time the storm ended. We traveled to Panama City last Friday to get our Greyhawk back from the dealer and couldn’t believe that it was spared any major damage. In less you see the destruction in Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe first hand you don’t realize what this storm has done and how many lives it has impacted. The organizations that are feeding and helping with this massive cleanup deserve high praise for all their hard work. The spirit is strong and I’m sure the area will come back better than before. Hope you get things back together quickly and stay safe.
