New Camper Order

Hello to everyone. Looks like I am heading over to sign on an order for a 2016 264 BHW tomorrow. The dealer, a local rvone/rvdirect dealer, is saying it is going to take 8 weeks or maybe a little more for delivery. Does that sound about right? I have never ordered a camper before, so I really don't know. Thanks for any info.

Yes, sounds normal. We are on week 9 right now and have at least a couple of more weeks before it makes it's way to the West Coast.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

Mine was ordered at the end of 2015 model year so it probably doesn't apply to current production. It took about 10 weeks, as I recall, and I picked it up from a dealer in Middlebury.

Let me ask you guys this, when you sat down and placed the order, did it specify what you expected to be in the camper? Oven, vent fans, other certain specific things? The dealer here didn't sound all that sure what all was standard, and what was an option in the 2016 compared to the 2015. I just don't want to put down what I am being told is a non-refundable deposit, and it show up without something I was expecting.

I was told 8 weeks MAX. I am now on week 12, my trailer is complete and has been sitting for a week but neither Jayco or my dealer can tell me when I am going to get it. If you read around on this forum it seems to be very hit and miss on the delivery windows and Jayco will not provide a date, ever.

Dealer was not sure of the 2016 model. It was kind of a gamble. I put the deposit down and then found out later some specs and a minor change to floorplan. They ended up including the 2" lift (that I paid $142 extra for) as standard and taking away the aluminum wheels as standard and adding them as an option. At the end of the day it all worked out and did not end up changing my final price. Luckily the decor I picked was still available and there weren't any changes made that I didn't like.

Well, the deal is done. Put the down payment on it Sunday. Now I'm waiting to hear from the dealer when the expected delivery is. Fingers crossed.
