New Mexico to North Carolina and back...

Returned yesterday from our longest RV outing ever: 18 days, 4,079 miles. More than half of the distance was on back roads. Loved it. We have a 2017 Melbourne 24M, 3.0 liter turbo diesel.
--Best historic site: Shiloh Civil War park in Tennessee.
--Best stretches of interstate: 840 loop around Nashville and I-40 in Oklahoma from Henrietta to Texas state line.
--Worst stretches of interstate: in New Mexico and much of Tennessee.
--Most fun roads: 1. Natchez Trace, south of Nashville for about 80 miles. 2. Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville. 3. Talimena Parkway in southeast corner of Oklahoma.
--Best RV park: Indian Creek Campground, near Buffalo Valley Tennessee. Also the least expensive, $30 per night. It's a former Corps of Engineers park. Clean, spacious, quiet, on a lake.
--Best mpg: 14.96. Worst mpg: 10.96. Interstate travel at about 67 mph uses more diesel.
--Only RV issue: Two warning lights on the dash, at the same time: profile of a tire and a skidding vehicle. Leland at MB dealer in Albuquerque told me the vehicle has a heavy-wind sensor that automatically turns off the cruise control. No wind, no problems....
--Most surprising pretty area: mountains in southeast corner of Oklahoma.

Quick question guys, at 65 or 67 mph what are your rpm's? New to a motorhome, have a 2018 Melbourne 24L. Love the diesel.

Sounds like you had a great trip! Shiloh National Military Park is a special place that everyone should visit at least once. Part of it's charm is that it's off the beaten path, so it does not get the traffic that Gettysburg does.

Thanks for sharing. We really enjoyed the Natchez Trace Parkway. You really covered some turf in 18 days.
