Hello guys. I'm having a weird issue. I woke up with no propane left no heat can't cook.
Got tank refilled and when I connect the pigtail gas shoots out the back of green twist knob. Failed Pigtail.
So i went and bought a new flame King pigtail from Ace hardware and it won't allow any gas to flow out. Like it's not pushing in far enough on the valve no matter how tight to allow it to release propane. Aren't these things universal? It fits on perfectly but nothing comes out and regulator says red. I disconnected from regulator just to see if gas would come out of the tank and it won't.
Put the old house back on and gas shoots out like crazy. So it's not the tank. It's the hose. In don't understand. It's a brand new hose.
This is 2015 trailer. Do be tanks have a different valve design or something?
If I'm not mistaken ( I was once in 1985...hehe ).
There is adjustment inside the tank valve exit. Look in ad you'll see what looks like a split ring. Get something that fits the splits and screw it in deeper until the pig tail depresses itself innards to release the gas.
Your new pigtail was probably not of this country.
Hope this helps...

Maybe this?-
There may be a "flow limiting device" in the pigtail stopping LP which is a safety device to shut gas off if a large leak occurs.
Disconnect and reconnect then open your tank valve slowly, otherwise the large initial flow may trip it shutting off your gas.
Thank you for the replies. I ended up calling Mr heater customer service. (typo above not flame King)Aroamer you are correct. There is a check valve inside the pigtail. I was told to tap it on something 5-7 times on the ground to release it and to turn the head on very slowly in order to not activate it. So we are working now!
