New RV Extended Warranty
I just wanted to get everyone's opinions regarding extended warranties. We did get it for ours. 7 year coverage.

We never get one for our campers. Jayco warranty is for two years and most anything that is going to go wrong happens in those first two years and the dealer and Jayco take care of the problem. Maybe we have been lucky so far, but we haven't had anything major that was expensive to repair outside of the two year warranty period.
If we had a motor home, I might think differently. They are vulnerable to major problems that are very expensive to repair. You have to be extremely careful with extended warranties and make certain that all claims follow their steps for reimbursement because it is my opinion that they will do everything possible to avoid paying a claim.

We didn't get the extended warranty either for the same reason.

Never have gotten an extended warranty for the same reasons also. Am on my third Jayco and the God's must be with me because I have never had to replace anything other than light bulbs, etc. Did have major work done on this my third unit, but it all was corrected within our first three trips. We use ours a lot so we will see.

Passed on it. I figure any repairs after the regular warranty are done that would be covered will never add up to what I would have paid for the extended warranty so it is not worth it. (At least for me)

We got one for our new X20E last year but haven't had any issues yet. I would probably pass on it next time.

We did not get it either. I also declined any paint or rust protection that the dealer had offered.

No extended warranty for us either, we were told at the time of sale that we could purchase it after our Jayco 2 yr standard warranty ran out if we wished (at a premium of course), but like many others here, I don't think we will get it...
Some would say it's a gamble, but I've never bought an extended warranty on anything, and have never wished I had. Lucky I guess, knocking on wood as we speak...

We got one since this was our first trailer. So far, only major problem we had was when the dealer winterized.dewinterized last year/this spring, one of the valves cracked & we had a fair amount of water that flooded under sink (unbeknown to us until we retreated inside for the evening & DW stepped on a squishy rug) but the dealer is going to take care of everything. But, the Jayco warranty has covered a bunch of minor, cosmetic stuff. And we've used it a fair amount since we bought it in 8/12. I guess it would depend on how you plan to use it and how hard you are on your stuff, lol! That and how often you're going to use it, what conditions you're going to subject it to, etc. For us, a site at a nice campground with water & electric only is roughing it. So, we will most likely pass next time, as, so far, Jayco's product has proven superior and they stand behind their factory warranty.

We passes on it. Hoping the two year standard warranty will suffice. And isn't the roof standard warranty longer than two years?

We dont buy much of anything new, so extended warrantys really do not apply to us. I have learned that extended warranties RARELY pay off. I was a mechanic for years at a local GM dealer, and the amount of stuff the warranty companies decline is crazy. Farther more, most of the time, the deductable at the time of the claim would have covered a non-warranty repair. The price you pay vs. the amount you are able to claim are two far apart. You would be better off just setting aside the money it would cost to purchase the warranty and if 7 years down the road, something happens that your insurance doesn't cover, you can use the money you saved by not purchasing the warranty.

Never bought an extended warranty for a camper, but did buy it for 4 cars. On only one of those cars, a VW Passat, did it pay for itself. The rest were a waste of money. Lesson learned: Don't buy a VW.
